John Christ Heavy Gauge Standard Guitar Picks

from $4.99

"These are John’s heavy gauge 1.52mm Clayton Standard triangle picks. These picks are extremely durable says John, “I am still using picks that are over 20 years old! The ink wore off years ago.”

In 1990 or ‘91, John Christ’s guitar tech, Greg Crash Hearn, asked John to try a factory White Acetal Clayton 1.52mm pick. At that time, Danzig was headlining a U.S. tour with special guests C.O.C., and Sound Garden. (Badmotorfinger ring a bell?). John liked the cool logo instantly and after a few gigs promptly ordered a gross (144) directly from Clayton.

Says John, “These picks are so hard that I can overpower the limits of the strings and guitar bridge simply by brute downforce and aggressive attack.” The Claytons feel good in John’s hand and won’t shatter or snap in half like the old industry standard brands. John likes the over sized picks especially in the warmer months when the picks tend to get slippery in The Dirty Black Summer heat!

The white picks are made of Acetyl, the black picks are Delrin, and both are very durable and strong.
Clayton Acetal Standard pick, 1.52mm (white). Clayton Delrin Standard pick, 1.52mm (black). John Christ logo on one side, name on the other. Raised printing provides a good gripping surface.
